Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman is set to receive the Karma Award for his philanthropic work with the Tallahatchie River Foundation at at unite4:good and Variety‘s third annual unite4:humanity event, to be held Thursday, Feb. 25.
“We are honored to recognize Morgan Freeman and his organization that helps promote educational opportunities for youth in Mississippi,” said Jim Taylor, chief marketing officer of Karma Automotive. “We are dedicated to ‘Acting with Intention’ for a better future in our industry and supporting those who also do this in their organizations and personal lives.”
Freeman joins a host of Hollywood actors set to be recognized at the event. Other honorees include Matthew McConaughey, who will receive the Creative Conscience Award for his work with his Just Keep Livin’ Foundation, and Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller, who will receive the unite2gether award for their work with Hilarity for Charity. Olivia Wilde and Gina Rodriguez are also set to be honored.
Actor Adam Pally will host the event, to be held at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills. Presenters for the night include Sarah Silverman and Wilmer Valderrama, and DNCE will perform.
Unite4:Good partnered with Variety to put on the event, which works to promote and create social change. Karma Automotive is the presenting sponsor of unite4:humanity. American Airlines, Ketel One Vodka, Saint Vintage and Shutterstock are also onboard as premiere sponsors.
