Glaser hired as president of content by founder Hernan Lopez, ex-CEO of Fox International Channels
Jeffrey Glaser, previously head of current programming at 20th Century Fox Television, is joining podcast network startup Wondery as president of content.
Glaser will own an equity stake in Wondery alongside founder Hernan Lopez, who spent nearly two decades at Fox, most recently as CEO of Fox International Channels. The L.A.-based company also has received an investment from 20th Century Fox.
Last summer Glaser left Fox, where he oversaw series including “24,” “American Dad!,” “Arrested Development,” “Bones,” “Empire,” “Family Guy,” “Glee,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Modern Family” and “The X-Files.” He first joined Fox as a drama development and current exec in 1997.
Under Glaser’s direction, Wondery intends to expand development of both scripted and unscripted programming for its lineup of podcasts.
“Jeffrey oversaw some of the most iconic drama and comedy series made in Hollywood,” Lopez said in a statement. “We are thrilled to have him join our team and help us attract the most talented writers, producers and actors to a new form of storytelling.”
Added Glaser: “As a longtime fan of podcasts, I am excited to join Hernan and his innovative new entertainment company. I look forward to helping to create distinctive shows for the burgeoning audience of podcast listeners. And I feel very fortunate to continue to work with creative talent in making another form of quality entertainment.”
Wondery also announced the appointment of Cristina Haro as account executive, brand solutions. Haro, who starts April 4, joins the company from Univision Communications, where she worked in a cross-platform role encompassing TV, radio and digital, as an account executive and a marketing strategist.
Wondery has partnered with tech company ART19, which provides distribution infrastructure and dynamic ad insertion for podcasts, networks and media companies.
