“Raising Heaven” follows Tianne’s life as a single mother as she pursues a dance career in New York City, while also managing Heaven’s nascent career as an internet celeb. Go90 will premiere the first season of the show, comprising six 22-minute episodes, on Monday, Oct. 24, with new episodes to be released weekly on Mondays.
Tianne began including Heaven in dance sessions and rehearsal videos on her YouTube channel, which now has nearly 1 million subscribers — and several went viral. Most notably, Heaven’s dance to Silento’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” last year received over 175 million video views and became one of the top-trending videos of 2015. Heaven and Tianne have subsequently made several TV appearances, including on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” and the mom-daughter duo have garnered attention from celebrities like Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Rihanna and Ashton Kutcher.
The show is produced by Mommy & Me Entertainment, the company founded by Tianne King, and izo’s DanceOn dance-entertainment network. “Raising Heaven” is executive produced by Jennifer Stander and Christine Cavalieri for DanceOn, and Tianne King, Heaven King, Willie “Prophet” Stiggers for Mommy & Me Entertainment.
DanceOn has a deal with Go90 to produce 25 original series for the service through 2017. “Raising Heaven” follows other DanceOn originals for its Go90 channel, including “Every Single Step,” executive produced by Nigel Lythgoe (“American Idol,” “So You Think You Can Dance”), “Chachi’s World,” a reality series following Chachi Gonzales (Hulu’s “Freakish, MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew”) and “Dance-Off Juniors,” a competition series for kids featuring a variety of dance-based challenges starring choreographer Matt Steffanina (winner of CBS’s “The Amazing Race”).
DanceOn changed its corporate name to izo earlier this year. The company’s co-founders include CEO Amanda Taylor, Madonna, Guy Oseary and Allen DeBevoise, and izo is backed by investors including AMC Networks, DeBevoise’s Third Wave Ventures, Plus Capital and Luminari Capital.
