HBO is taking to Twitter to get “Game of Thrones” fans excited for the upcoming season 6: The cable network launched a social media campaign Friday that encourages fans to pledge their allegiance with one of the show’s “houses” on Twitter.
Fans just have to use the hash tags #HouseStark, #HouseLannister or #HouseTargaryen and also tag the official “Game of Thrones” Twitter account. Anyone who does so gets a tweeted response with a short teaser based on each house. But don’t expect good news: Stark fans get to hear from Ramsay Bolton, and Lannister fans will recognize the voice of the High Sparrow.
HBO is using Twitter’s new auto reply feature to target fans based on their house allegiance, and the network is obviously hoping that all those tweets will get more people excited about the upcoming season, which is slated to premiere on April 24.
