Bishara, based in Discovery’s New York City office, will lead the cabler’s OTT initiatives as well as the digital businesses for video-on-demand, download-to-own, home video and short-form video syndication. He reports to Karen Leever, executive VP and GM of Discovery Digital Media, who joined the company from DirecTV last year.
Most recently, Bishara worked at Synacor as senior VP of digital products and GM of OTT and TV Everywhere, overseeing products development and operations of the company’s white-label video and identity-management services platform. He also was founder and managing member of Sentient Digital Consulting Group, a digital-media consulting practice focused on the development of TV Everywhere product strategies for HBO and Disney brands in Canada as well supporting the development and launch of HBO Go Canada.
Bishara also spent more than a decade at HBO where he held several roles, including senior VP of the HBO Go digital group overseeing the premium cable programmer’s domestic broadband business, products and subscription strategy.

Bishara holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and an MBA in marketing management from State University of New York at Buffalo.
