Tonjé Bakang’s Afrostream, an SVOD service targeting French-speaking auds with African-American, Afro-Caribbean and African series and movies, has inked a multiyear deal with international distributor ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

Under the deal, Afrostream will air “Cockroaches,” ITV Studios’ new buzzed-about comedy series.

“With this deal we reinforce our afro-‐‑global approach,” said Tonjé Bakang, CEO of Afrostream, which recently inked deals with Viacom’s BET France, TF1 and Sony Pictures Television.

Accessible via mobile devices and connected TVs, Afrostream is dedicated to black movies, series and documentaries.

The subscription-based service, whose packages range from $8 per month to $65 per year, gives users access to premium content in their original version with French subtitles.

Afrostream is currently available in European and African French-speaking countries and is set to launch in English-speaking African countries by year-end.
