Warner Bros. named Barry Ziehl senior vice president of public affairs and strategic initiatives, WB executive vice president of worldwide corporate communications and public affairs Dee Dee Myers announced Monday.
Ziehl has held the position of senior vice president of worldwide public relations and marketing for Warner Bros. consumer products for 10 years, and he will assume his new role in the coming weeks. In the position, Ziehl will report directly to Myers, working with her to further improve Warner Bros.’ brand reputation. Additionally, Ziehl will work with Michael Walbrecht, vice president of public affairs, and will assume oversight of the public affairs team, including corporate responsibility, philanthropy efforts and sustainability initiatives.
“Barry is a bold strategic thinker, terrific manager and seasoned executive who will be a tremendous asset to our Corporate Communications and Public Affairs team,” Myers said. “He brings an invaluable mix of public relations, marketing and strategic planning skills, as well as experience working across divisions at Warner Bros. I couldn’t be more excited about working with him as we continue to shape and communicate the Warner Bros. story.”
Ziehl first joined Warner Bros. consumer products in 1999. Previously, Ziehl worked for the U.S. Postal Service at its headquarters in Washington, D.C., leading the public relations and marketing communications programs.
