Vicki Gutin Shapiro, an attorney who served as the Screen Actors Guild’s legal affairs director, died on February 16 from complications associated with anorexia.
Shapiro began working for SAG in 1978, later becoming its legal affairs director. She also sat on the board of trustees at the SAG Foundation.
Born in Cincinnati, she was crowned Miss Teenage Cincinnati 1966. Shapiro subsequently graduated from Smith College and Loyola Law School.
She volunteered her time at the Skirball Cultural Center and the Motion Picture Home.
Shapiro is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bernard; three grandchildren; stepchildren Dean and Bill; a sister; her niece; and a grandniece.
