Spike Lee is featured in a radio ad being played in South Carolina in which he endorses Bernie Sanders, telling listeners that the Vermont senator “will do the right thing.”

Sanders trails Hillary Clinton by double digits in the state, according to recent polls. Democrats vote in the state’s primary on Saturday.

“Waaaaake up! Wake up, South Carolina!” Lee says in the spot, which was first posted by ABC News on Tuesday. “This is your dude, Spike Lee. And you know that I know that you know that the system is rigged! And for too long we’ve given our votes to corporate puppets. Sold the okie doke. Ninety-nine percent of Americans were hurt by the Great Recession of 2008, and many are still recovering.”

Lee notes that Sanders “takes no money from corporations. Nada. Which means he’s not on the take, and when Bernie gets into the White House, he will do the right thing.”

The Sanders and Clinton campaigns have been deploying celebrities in the state as they target its heavy concentration of African American voters. Danny Glover campaigned for Sanders on Monday and Morgan Freeman narrates a TV spot for Clinton that began running on Sunday. Meanwhile, Vivica Fox and Angela Bassett campaigned for Clinton last week.

Spike does not speak for me. He exploits women in his movies. I would not follow his lead anywhere. Especially when it comes to politics. He is a short angry man without a real purpose.

What I love about the Bernie movement is that he’s got the lemmings of the Democratic party in a tizzy. Who invited Bernie to the dance and where did he get those moves!? Bernie has gotten as far as he has because we, the People, have lifted him up with our bare hands. The establishment is nervous, and that’s a good thing. We’re sending a message to the politicians that we are tired of being forced to choose between our voice and our legs. Regardless of who gets the nomination, I do feel there will be more Bernie’s in our future because we are empowering ourselves in that direction. I want Bernie to get the nomination, but if he doesn’t, I will still be proud of how far we lifted Bernie through this process. Not bad for our first try!

Bernie is a socialist nutjob. NONE of his socialist ideas would ever get through congress and would cause nothing but gridlock and the continued “do-nothingness” of the government. That he has gotten this far in democratic circles is testimony to the distrust people have in the greedy, lying Hillary Clinton and her rapist husband. Trump will be the next president, and he is one of the worst candidates I have seen in my lifetime of either party…except for Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
