Relativity Media has announced that Kenneth Halsband, who has been president of physical and post production at Relativity Studios, has added duties as chief operating officer.

Halsband will oversee day-to-day operations across Relativity’s business units.

“Ken is a proven leader who has played a key role in Relativity’s evolution as a 360-degree content engine over the past nine years,” said Relativity chief Ryan Kavanaugh. “His breadth of experience and deep knowledge of the content production process make him a natural fit for the role of Chief Operating Officer.”

Halsband joined Relativity in 2007 as head of physical and post production. He also co-produced “The Fighter,” “Dear John,” “Limitless,” “Immortals” and “Safe Haven,” and oversaw co-productions and acquistions, such as “Free Birds” and “Black or White.”

Before joining Relativity, Halsband founded Finish Line Post, an independent technology and digital post-production company.

Relativity is preparing to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, with a reorganization plan set to go before a New York bankruptcy judge.

Halsband lives up to the relativity core values, don’t do anything unless there’s some kick back in it for you somehow. He has his assistant follow him home in her car every night so she can bring his bags inside for him. I’m curious to know what questionable deed he did to get this bump. Promote the guy who is responsible for hiding production funds for the films to run the day to day operations so he can do a better job of hiding that mess as well. Good Job!

Haha! What a bunch of hacks!
This guy is criminally un-employable anywhere else in the industry.

For all you who think that Spacey/Brunetti & new VC money is going to turn that place around – look no further.

Good luck to Relativity. All of these companies from Lehman brothers to MGM to the U. S. Debt , even governments have ups and downs. Look at this week and today’s US stock market , in case you noticed.
Kevin Spacey is terrific , this guy Ken looks serious, and this new Relativity group has potential, and let’s hope they make some great movies!
Jack B, ….best of luck to you
      . Relativity ! Go for it ! Ya 2016 !
