A publicist for Prince has said the remains of the artist were cremated and a private group of friends, family and musicians gathered on Saturday to celebrate his life.
Yvette Noel-Schure said the cause of death is still unknown and toxicology results wouldn’t be available for “at least four weeks.”
“We ask for your blessings and prayers of comfort for his family and close friends at this time,” she said in a statement. “An announcement will be made at a future date for a musical celebration.”
The “final storage” of his body has yet to be determined.
His rep also said a musical celebration was being planned.
Fans gathered over the weekend outside the Paisley Park compound, home and studio of the late singer, as Prince’s former bandmates Sheila E. and Larry Graham were seen entering the property.
The 57 year-old artist was found dead on Thursday by staff members.
Local officials have said there were no visible signs of foul play.
Prince was last seen Wednesday night when a staff member dropped him off at his Paisley Park residence around 8 p.m.
The pop icon played his final show last week in Atlanta.
After a medical emergency last Thursday, which TMZ reported may have been a drug overdose for chronic hip pain, the mysterious artist popped up one last time for fans at a small “dance party” near his home.
“Wait a few days before you waste your prayers on me,” he told the crowd.
