Michael Bloomberg Tells Financial Times He’s Considering Presidential Run

Michael Bloomberg, the media mogul and former mayor of New York, told the Financial Times that he is considering a presidential run.

Bloomberg said that he is “looking at all the options,” confirming a report in the New York Times last month that he was considering an independent presidential bid.

“I find the level of discourse and discussion distressingly banal and an outrage and an insult to the voters,” Bloomberg said.

Bloomberg reportedly is prepared to invest as much as $1 billion of his own money if he were to run. He told the Financial Times that he would have to start securing his name on ballots in states starting in early March.

His entry would shake up the race, perhaps more to the detriment of Democrats than Republicans because Bloomberg has pushed signature issues of the left like action on climate change and measures to restrict access to guns. But he presumably would have to step back from Bloomberg LP, where he has taken on a greater role since leaving the mayor’s office.

I think he’d be formidable. I do think that Hillary is totally beatable. She’s so been there, done that.

  3. bloomberg’s third term–which never should have happened–was a disaster. bloomberg revealed himself as someone with an extremely narrow world view–a doophus.

As one who lives in the Tri-State area, it is distressing enough to see the evil Christie make a run. Now we have to face the prospect of the Anti-Freedom Bloomberg as well??? He probably has a plan to save money by banning large coffees (after all, caffeine is addictive). The New York mayor had shop owners arrested for standing outside their shops “loiyering”. The guy who had a man arrested for aiding a pregnant woman? And Stop & Frisk? Who used his money to buy himself an illegal third term as mayor? As PRESIDENT??? I’d like to think that Americans are smart & informed enough to see through these fascists..but I’m not confident that they are. It is a frightening time in the U.S,

JUST STAY OUT OF THE RACE, BLOOMBERG. YOU’RE NOTHING BUT A WALL STREET BANKER’S FLUNKY AND A CLOSET SOCIALIST. YOU’VE DONE ENOUGH DAMAGE IN THOSE CAPACITIES. WE DON’T NEED YOU AS PRESIDENT.

Oh great…. just what AmeriKKKa needs another billionaire who’s only real interest is to acquire certain information which they could “casually’ discuss with their heirs who can then pass that information on to their hedge fund managers who will “coincidentally” make business investments based on that line of “casual” information meanwhile the Billionaire President signs laws that benefits himself, his wealthy family and his wealthier friends as the stupid low information voters will still find a way to blame Obama long after his presidency is over….. #AmeriKKKansAreIdiots

  8. African – Americans are not going too support a “Big Short” Big Shot whom preyed on their community.
Stop and Frisk policies were unconstitutional but were enforced anyway. Social Conservative Economics and Politics made him Rich, destroyed the middle class leaving only the poor. Big Short!
