Toronto-headquartered Entertainment One and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment are adding the U.K. and Benelux to their longstanding home-entertainment distribution alliance and launching a new joint distribution venture in Canada, the companies announced Tuesday morning.

The extended partnership will see Fox manage DVD and Blu-ray sales and distribution for eOne film, TV, and family home entertainment titles in the U.K., Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, and Australia. Fox will also exclusively handle physical home entertainment marketing and sales of eOne’s preschool brand Peppa Pig in the U.S. market.

The new joint venture will drive the companies’ combined direct-account home entertainment businesses in Canada, with “The Hateful Eight,” The Peanuts Movie,” and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2” among the titles first out of the gate.

“eOne is a valued partner and a global leader in acquisition, production and distribution of entertainment,” said Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment president of worldwide distribution Keith Feldman. “We’re delighted to expand our relationship with them, as they continue to bring top-tier entertainment to market around the world.”

“As the industry continues to rapidly evolve, our expanded partnership with Fox marks a significant milestone for our business,” said eOne’s Global Film Group president Steve Bertram. “Fox is a leader in global home entertainment and we look forward to joining forces to strengthen our relationship with retail and bring our exciting slate to consumers around the world.”

The companies expect the transition to begin in the near term.
