Daniel Holloway has joined Variety as a senior TV reporter, covering the TV industry. Holloway comes to PMC-owned Variety from the Wrap, where he was TV editor.
Holloway will handle breaking news stories on all aspects of the business, from the executive suite to programming. He’ll report to Debra Birnbaum, executive editor, TV, and work closely with Variety‘s TV team in Los Angeles and New York. He will start on March 14.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Daniel to Variety,” said Birnbaum. “His deep connections in the industry and solid reporting skills make him a perfect addition to our ever expanding team.”
Before the Wrap, Holloway was programming and digital media editor at Broadcasting & Cable and also served as executive editor of Backstage, where he managed the editorial and art departments and led the brand’s digital relaunch.
His work has been published by the Miami Herald, the Huffington Post, Time Out New York and Spin magazine. He was the film critic and an occasional guest host for NPR’s national morning news program “The Bryant Park Project.”
