Bernie Sanders: I Will Vote for Hillary Clinton

Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders said that he will vote for Hillary Clinton in November, even though he has not officially ended his presidential campaign.

Appearing on “Morning Joe” on Friday, Sanders answered “Yes” when asked if he would vote for Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee.

“I think the issue right here is I’m going to do everything I can to defeat Donald Trump,” he said. “I think in so many ways would be a disaster for this country if he were elected president.”

On Thursday night, Sanders appeared before supporters in New York and continued to echo his campaign themes, and he talked of the fight “we are going to continue.” Sanders has suggested that his campaign is moving to a different phase of carrying his message of economic inequality and campaign finance reform. He also has been raising money for Democratic Senate and House candidates.

“What I am trying to do is develop policies in this country which stand for working people,” Sanders told CNN later on Friday morning. He also said that he wanted to press issues like climate change and college tuition.

He said that the Democratic party needed to remake itself to include working people and young voters, and criticized Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Asked if he thought Clinton would beat Trump, Sanders said that “everything being equal,” she would.

So I totally love Bernie because he’s a good hearted guy… But God he’s a dweeb. I mean, he was handed the presidency on a platter!! And he blew it…Like who hires an ex-comic book store manager as their campaign manager?!?! One of the worst run presidential campaigns in the history of our country… And the pandering to Clinton he’s doing right now… It’s just so embarrassing… Love him, because he really does have a good heart… But the fact of the matter is that he’s really just not the sharpest cookie in the jar…

Where’s been this fight for working people the entire time he’s held office? He has no shot at winning, and it’s too late to submit signatures and paperwork for 3rd party status. There’s no way Obama ‘s FBI will file charges on Clinton she’ll be the nominee. Bernie is just trying to get out of work for as long as possible.

  3. BodhiLeroc says:

This article is incorrect, what Sanders actually said when asked IF Clinton is nominated will he vote, and he stated “”In all likelihood, it will be Hillary Clinton.” He has also stated clearly, he is NOT ENDORSING her and he plans to fight hard at the convention to ensure the Democratic platform represents the issues voters want, not the issues big-money wants. Remember, Variety is a tabloid, they rarely engage in any semblance of responsible journalism.

Coward. All of the ammunition in the world against Hillary and he didnt want to use it.

hes to weak to be a president it looks like.

What Sanders actually said when asked if he will vote for her: “In all likelihood, it will be Hillary Clinton,” He DID NOT ENDORSE.

      • Carlos Shabo says:

i still blame him for Hillary even being in the running still. it doesnt matter if he “Endorses” her….the presidential race is over and Hillary is going to destroy this country.

I guess he doesn’t want to be blamed for getting Trump elected. At this point, there’s nothing else he can do.

  6. Joyce Tyler says:

He’ll vote for Clinton, because he’s all about defeating Trump; however, he won’t endorse her because that’s the same as telling his supporters that THEY should vote for her in order to defeat Trump. Question: Does Bernie lack the ability to think logically, or is he just a vindictive old fart?

    • BodhiLeroc says:

If you knew anything about political party platforms (and I have to assume you don’t given your comment) the way the process works is that candidates who garner significant amounts of votes (he got 40% of the primary votes) have a leadership role in establishing the Party platform – the ideas and issues the Party will ensure are fought for in Congress. He represents a LOT of Democrats, and the Party recognizes this; if he were to endorse Clinton, he’d be leaving all those Democrats behind with no leadership to represents the issues they want represented at the Convention. This is how the process works; if YOU had the “ability to think logically” and get out from under your personal dribble, you’d have taken the time to do a little research instead of believing everything you’re spoon-fed by the media.
