LONDON — Leonardo DiCaprio has attacked the “greed” of the energy industry in a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

DiCaprio, who was at the event Tuesday to pick up an Crystal Award for his work on environmentalism, called for more action on climate change.

He said: “We simply cannot afford to allow the corporate greed of the coal, oil and gas industries to determine the future of humanity. Those entities with a financial interest in preserving this destructive system have denied, and even covered up the evidence of our changing climate.

“Enough is enough. You know better. The world knows better. History will place the blame for this devastation squarely at their feet.”

DiCaprio also announced his foundation would donate another $15 million to environmental projects, including efforts to protect the rainforest on Sumatra from the destruction caused by the palm oil industry.

DiCaprio the same genius who said regarding Alberta recently that the Chinooks were really scary proof of global warming, apparently not bothering to ask any Calgarian who would have told him that these warm winter winds have been around for as long or longer than several hundred years.

I guess he forgot about the greed of the Entertainment industry…douche

“I’ll believe it’s a crisis when the people who are telling me it’s a crisis start acting like it’s a crisis.” Glenn Reynolds the “Instapundit.” Climate change Leo? Why are you flying around the world on a private jet, renting Mega Yachts for you and your lady friends and otherwise not practicing what you preach to the rest of us?

DiCaprio needs his private jet, his chauffeured Escalades, his mansions and his ability to consume more natural resources in a year that would take the rest of us a lifetime to consume. This is what people used to call a “Limousine Liberal.” Now they call them, “Learjet Leftists.”

  4. When DiCaprio and the rest of the elite stop consuming more than their “fair share” of our resources, I’ll believe they’re serious.

At least he’s a voice and trying to help the planet. How much have you donated or recycled? There are many celebrities that do nothing. I wish I could do more as well. With more voices like his maybe we can all get together and do something. That’s the point.
