Denzel Washington and Patti LuPone are among the names on the 2015-16 slate of artistic adviser master classes and events at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.

“These are artists who define excellence in theater, dance and music,” said Patricia Wolff, the Wallis’ interim artistic director, in a statement. “They are not just advisers in name, but will participate in the season with a focus on education.”

Washington will share stories and anecdotes about his work on stage and screen at “Arts & Ideas: An Evening With Denzel Washington,” set for Sept. 17 at the Bram Goldsmith Theater.

Broadway legend Patti LuPone will work with six young singers with a passion for musical theater. Each student will perform one song and work with LuPone to enhance their performance skills and deepen their understanding of vocal artistry and the power of touching an audience through song. The class is scheduled for March 31 at the Goldsmith.

LuPone will also perform in a concert titled “Far Away Places” April 1-2.

Other artists announced in the master class lineup include Arturo Sandoval, working with young musicians; Suzanne Farrell, who’ll work with ballet students; and Judith Jamison, teaching dance and choreography.

The full lineup at the Wallis, located in Beverly Hills, can be found at the center’s website.
