Everyone’s favorite kooky conspiracy theorists are back … if social media is to be believed.
Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund and Bruce Harwood are back together as Melvin Frohike, Ringo Langly and John Fitzgerald Byers (aka the Lone Gunmen) for Fox’s “The X-Files” event series.
Haglund confirmed the news via Twitter.
This may come as a surprise to fans, as it appeared that the trio perished while stopping a bio-terrorist in the first rendition of “The X-Files.” (They also appeared in the briefly airing spinoff series named for their clique).
The six-episode “X-Files” event series is set to premiere Jan. 24 on Fox, following the NFC Championship game. “X-Files” creator Chris Carter is exec producing and David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are back to resume their work investigating the bizarre and supernatural as agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
Other returning cast members include Mitch Pileggi as FBI official Walter Skinner and William B. Davis as Mulder and Scully’s nemesis, the Cigarette Smoking Man.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Lauren Ambrose and Robbie Amell would appear in one episode of the series. They join new cast members that include Joel McHale, who plays a conservative news anchor who is an unlikely ally for Mulder.
