USA Network and the WWE announced Thursday wrestling champion Chris Jericho will host the new season of “WWE Tough Enough,” starting June 23, with Hulk Hogan, Daniel Bryan and WWE Diva Paige on the judging panel.
In the hourlong reality series, fans vote out WWE hopefuls until one man and one woman are named champion, earning each of them a one-year, $250,000 WWE contract.
Apart from his career in the ring, Jericho has a list of credits in front of the camera, including hosting his own reality show “Redemption Show” on Fuse TV in 2008, and competing on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” in 2011.
The series, originally titled “MTV’s WWF Tough Enough” in 2001, was picked up by USA in 2010 with the first revived season airing in 2011.
“WWE Tough Enough” is produced by WWE, USA Network and Left Hook Media. Matt Odgers and Scott Teti are exec producers for Left Hook Media. Jessica Sebastian is VP of unscripted series for USA network and Kevin Dunn is executive producer for WWE.
