As the new president of the United States, what Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Selina Meyer says, goes.
Mike, her director of communications, perfectly sums up the sentiment in the first trailer for the fourth season of “Veep.” “You’re like a real-life Mariah Carey,” he says, straight-faced.
The trailer offers the first look at a new recurrent character, played by “House” alum Hugh Laurie. Although his role is yet to be revealed, Laurie is rumored to play Meyer’s new vice president. The promo also hints at a rift between her and personal aide Gary.
Gary, played by Tony Hale, is quick to put the POTUS in her place: “I’m your calendar, I’m your Google, I’m your Wilson the volleyball.”
“Veep” season four premieres on HBO on April 12 — the same night that “Game of Thrones” and “Silicon Valley” return.
