In his new position, Lawrence will focus on repping unscripted showrunners, producers, directors, production companies and on-camera talent.
“Seth is a great agent with a keen instinct for talent in all forms, and we know he will be a great addition to our alternative TV team,” said UTA partner and alternative TV head Brett Hansen, to whom Lawrence will report.
At Rebel, where Lawrence was for 13 years, he was most recently senior vice president in the alternative TV department, helping manage a department of eight agents. There, he was integral to packaging series including Animal Planet’s new show “The Last Alaskans,” Destination America’s “My Child Sees Dead People” and Bravo’s “Untying the Knot,” which heads into its second season next month.
Lawrence’s clients include “Basketball Wives” showrunners Sean Rankine and Mark G. Seliga, along with their new Devil Cat Media shingle, plus the VH1 franchise’s post exec producer Amanda Scott. He also reps Ianthe Jones, the exec producer and showrunner of “The Boris and Nicole Show;” Paul Casey, the director of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher;” author James Campbell, who co-created History’s “Great Lake Warriors” and “The Last Alaskans;” Roberto Cardenas banner 90 Miles Productions; Mandt Bros Prods., which is behind Syfy’s “Destination Truth;” documentarian producer/director Sharon Liese; and “Untying the Knot” star Vikki Ziegler.
