TNT is passing on the fantasy-mystery drama pilot “Breed.”

The pilot written by John Scott Shepherd revolved around a detective who discovers that a strange creature is responsible for a series of murders in the Pacific Northwest. Justin Chatwin starred with Callie Thorne, Nadia Hilker, Amber Clayton and Aisha Hinds.

The project lensed last month in Vancouver, with Scott Winant directing. Shepherd, Winant and Nicky Weinstock exec produced.

The decision on “Breed” comes as a new regime at Turner is planning a major shift in tone and focus for the cabler’s original dramas. “Breed” was a holdover pilot from the previous regime.
