Olivia Pope is getting another regular Gladiator.

Cornelius Smith Jr., who recurred in two season-four episodes as activist Marcus Walker, will reprise his role as a series regular for the fifth season, Variety has confirmed.

Smith Jr. first appeared in the influential Ferguson-inspired March 5 episode, titled “The Lawn Chair,” as an activist working with Olivia (Kerry Washington) for equality. Details on his return are being kept under wraps.

Smith Jr.’s other credits include “Agents of SHIELD,” “Forever” and “All My Children,” on which he played Frankie, the child of Jesse and Angie Hubbard (Darnell Williams and Debbi Morgan). TVLine first reported the news of Smith Jr.’s “Scandal” casting.

Scandal returns on Sept. 24 on ABC.
