For anyone who can’t get enough witches… witch please; “Salem” is almost back, and it’s about to get witchier.
The second season of “Salem,” the first original scripted series from WGN America, will return on Sunday, April 5, at 10 p.m., bringing with it new recurring stars Lucy Lawless and Stuart Townsend. The network also released a first-look photo, featuring Townsend as prying English doctor Samuel Wainwright, locked in an intense moment with star Janet Montgomery’s Mary Sibley, the deadliest witch in Salem.
The 13-episode season is described as a “witch war,” as Mary battles for control of the 17th century village. Shane West, Seth Gabel, Ashley Madekwe, Tamzin Merchant, Elise Eberle and Iddo Goldberg also star.
“Salem,” from creators, writers and executive producers Brannon Braga and Adam Simon, is produced by Fox 21, with Kelly Souders, Brian Peterson and Prospect Park’s Josh Barry and Jeff Kwatinetz serving as EPs along with Braga and Simon. Nick Copus directs and serves as co-executive producer.
