Ratings: ‘Voice’ Tops Monday, But ‘Dancing,’ ‘Bachelorette’ Lift ABC to Victory

NBC’s “The Voice” dominated its two-hour Monday timeslot in key demos, but a solid premiere by “The Bachelorette” teamed with “Dancing With the Stars” to enable ABC to edge ahead for the night’s lead in young adults. Also of note on the final Monday of the season was a good finish by CBS comedy “2 Broke Girls.”

According to preliminary Nielsen estimates, “Dancing With the Stars” kicked off ABC’s winning night with a 2.2 rating/8 share in adults 18-49 and 14.1 million viewers overall) — on par with last week’s demo score but down about 15% from last year’s 90-minute Monday finale. It was the night’s most-watched program overall.

The Bachelorette” (pictured) kicked off its season with a two-hour episode (2.1/7 in 18-49, 7.2 million viewers overall), up a tick vs. its prior two editions and standing as the night’s No. 1 program in women 18-34 (3.2/9). It led the 10 p.m. hour in 18-49, 25-54 and 12-34 and was dominant in the female half of each of these demos.

NBC’s “The Voice” (2.6/8 in 18-49, 11.1 million viewers overall) was up 0.2 from last week and remained Monday’s No. 1 program in most demos; it was down 19% (0.6) from last year’s spring performance finale (3.2). “The Night Shift” was average closing out the night (1.2/4 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall).

At CBS, “2 Broke Girls” (2.0/7 in 18-49, 7.6 million viewers overall) continued its late-season roller-coaster ride, up 25% (0.4) from last week and matching its year-ago finale. It was followed by “Mike & Molly” (1.8/6 in 18-49, 7.8 million viewers overall), which was up a tick from last week, and “Stalker” (1.2/4 in 18-49, 6.8 million viewers overall), which lost a tenth. “NCIS: Los Angeles” closed out its first season on Mondays with a 1.4/4 in 18-49 and 9.2 million viewers overall, up a tenth from last week.

At Fox, the final two hours of “The Following” averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall, nearly in line with its two-hour averages of last week. And CW barely registered with the movie “Celeste & Jesse Forever” (0.1/0 in 18-49, 0.5 million viewers overall).
