FXX Renews Freshman Comedy ‘Man Seeking Woman’ for Season 2

Man seeking Woman FXX TV Review

FXX has handed a second season to freshman comedy “Man Seeking Woman,” which is currently in the midst of its first 10-episode run.

The announcement was made Tuesday by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, presidents of original programming, FX Networks and FX Productions.

The Jay Baruchel-starrer, which takes a sweet and absurd look at the surreal life-and-death stakes of dating, marks the first original comedy series developed for FXX.

Baruchel plays Josh Greenberg, a naive romantic desperately looking to find love, in the half-hour series from FX Productions and creator Simon Rich. Rich serves as showrunner and an exec producer with Jonathan Krisel, Lorne Michaels and Broadway Video’s Andrew Singer.

“Simon Rich has delivered an incredibly smart and original take on the search for love,” Grad said. “Critics and fans alike have embraced his unique storytelling, Jon Krisel’s stunning visuals and the brilliant performances of Jay Baruchel, Eric André and the rest of the cast that has made Man Seeking Woman one of the best new comedies on television.”

Rich commented, “FXX gave us the freedom to make the show we love and they let us build some truly disgusting monsters. I’m so grateful to John Landgraf and his team for believing in us and I can’t wait to get back to work.”

The first season finale of “Man Seeking Woman” airs March 18. Season 2 will return with 10 new episodes in 2016.
