If there were any doubts about Lester Holt’s new position as the official anchor of “NBC Nightly News,” this new promotional video puts them to rest.

The 15-second clip features Holt reporting in the field, engaging with interviewees in emotional situations. The footage is accompanied by a somber voiceover: “When news breaks, he’s there at the heart of the story. When lives change, he’s there to listen. When it really matters, you can depend on him.”

The official logo for “NBC Nightly News With  Lester Holt” closes out the brief video. Beginning Monday, the program will be billed as such.

Holt was announced as Brian Williams’ replacement Thursday after filling in for Williams during his suspension.

All these guys do is read the teleprompter. And make stuff up. But the truth really, seriously, has nothing to do with it. They don’t report accurately the brainwashing of the right and the republican assault on the working man. So Lester Holt? Whatever. Just another Brian Williams. ABC, NBC and CBS are weak spined alternatives to that lying Fox News.

  4. Bill says:

    Glad he got it.
