Kevin Spacey’s Trigger Street Inks Deal with Fox 21 & 20th Century Fox TV Studios

Fox 21 and 20th Century Fox TV Studios have closed a first-look deal with Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti’s production company Trigger Street. Under the two-year pact, the duo will develop scripted series for both broadcast and cable.

The first project to fall under the new deal is previously announced political drama “The Resident,” which is being adapted for cable based on Kate Andersen Brower’s novel titled “The Residence.” The project explores the relationship between White House residence staff and various first families spanning several administrations. Spacey and Brunetti will exec produce, along with Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, who will serve as a co-exec producer on her first-ever scripted TV producing venture.

“Kevin and I are always looking to align Trigger Street with entities that understand what we expect to accomplish and how to maximize all resources to produce the best content possible,” Brunetti said. “Our past and current projects demonstrate how we do things differently and partner with who we feel are the best at what they do. Trigger Street and Fox have the makings of a powerful team, and we look forward to our upcoming projects.”

All Trigger Street projects developed for broadcast under the pact will be produced by 20th Century Fox, while cable series will hail from Fox 21.

“Trigger Street is the rare combination of a producer that’s smart, aggressive, has great taste, and is a talent magnet. This is exactly the type of partner we look for,” Fox 21 TV Studios Bert Salke announced.

20th Century Fox TV president of creative affairs Jonnie Davis commented, “Kevin and Dana’s body of work — from ‘House of Cards,’ ‘The Social Network’ and ‘Captain Phillips,’ just to name a few — is mind-blowing and aligns perfectly with our studio’s commitment to great storytelling and undeniable content. We are so excited to get going with Trigger Street and create some great television.”

The deal was negotiated for Trigger Street by CAA and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush & Kaller.
