“Cougar Town” co-creator Kevin Biegel has signed a two-year overall deal ABC Television Studios, Variety has learned.

Under the new pact, Biegel will come onto ABC’s upcoming family comedy “The Real O’Neals” as a consulting producer. The ABC Studios laffer, starring Martha Plimpton, is a contemporary take on a seemingly perfect Catholic family whose lives take an unexpected turn when the teenage son reveals he is gay.

Most recently, Biegel created and exec produced Fox’s short-lived comedy “Enlisted.” Prior to that, he produced and wrote for “Cougar Town,” which he co-created with Bill Lawrence. Biegel also worked on “Scrubs” (NBC), “Grounded for Life” (Fox) and “The Tracy Morgan Show” (NBC).

Biegel is repped by UTA and Morris Yorn Barnes & Levine.
