Los Angeles-based Keshet Studios has recruited veteran producer Rob Lee to lead a new unscripted programming division.
As president of non-scripted programming, Lee will shepherd the company’s non-scripted and alternative programming slate, both through adapting parent company Keshet International’s original non-scripted formats as well as developing original projects for the U.S. market and beyond. He will report to Keshet International CEO Alon Shtruzman, who made the announcement.
“Keshet Studios has grown rapidly in both scale and vision since we established the company only a few months ago, and we realized an opportunity to expand further into the non-scripted space. Rob is an exceptional and unique creative force in non-scripted television as evidenced by his prolific, diverse and successful track record. We are happy to welcome him to our team,” said Shtruzman.
Lee’s hire allows for KI to build upon its non-scripted relationship with Dick Clark Productions, with whom they formed production company Keshet DCP in 2013 and which produces series like ABC’s “Rising Star” and Fox’s “Boom!.” Keshet Studios was launched in July with the purpose of developing, producing, packaging, promoting and selling scripted programming activities in the U.S.
Lee’s recent credits include Bravo’s “Millionaire Matchmaker” and “Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew” for MTV. He previously served as exec VP and worldwide head of programming at IMG Global Media.
“Keshet has built an unparalleled and dynamic global business with massive potential to grow in the US marketplace. I look forward to partnering with Alon and Keshet’s creative team to identify and expand Keshet Studios’ non-scripted business through original production as well as harnessing existing global assets,” said Lee.
