“The Big Bang Theory” star Jim Parsons is set to stop by Bravo’s “Inside the Actors Studio,” Variety has learned. The episode will mark the Emmy Award winner’s first appearance on the critically-acclaimed show, hosted by James Lipton.
“Having an incredibly well-rounded, successful run in theater, film and television, Jim Parsons arrived on our stage for one of the most joyful — and hilarious — evenings in the 21-year history of “Inside the Actors Studio,” said Lipton, of the session which was previously taped and airs June 18.
In the episode, Parsons — who is best known for his role as Sheldon Cooper on “Big Bang” and is currently starring on Broadway’s “An Act of God” — talks about his theater roots in Houston where he grew up, his relationship with longterm partner Todd Spiewak and the genesis of his hit CBS sitcom. As per usual on “Actors Studio,” the thesp also taps into character roles, as Lipton chats with both Sheldon and “God.”
“Inside the Actors Studio” has welcomed the likes of Billy Crystal, George Clooney, Jennifer Aniston, Natalie Portman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Poehler and the late Robin Williams.
Parsons has won four Emmys, being nominated seven times in total, and a Golden Globe award.
Parson’s episode of “Inside the Actors Studio” airs June 18 (8/7c).
