Trying to find time between the February 7 Super Bowl, the February 28 Oscars and Valentine’s Day, CBS is moving the Grammy Awards to a Monday for 2016.
The music industry’s annual fete will air live from the Staples Center starting at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, February 15. That day also happens to be Presidents’ Day, which should help with the commute downtown.
The 2015 Grammy Awards, which was hosted by LL Cool J, hit a six-year low when it aired on Sunday, February 8. It averaged an 8.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 25.3 million viewers overall. The TV Academy moved the 2014 Emmy Awards to a Monday, where the Seth Meyers-hosted broadcast drew the second-largest audience in eight years.
A host has yet to be named for the 2016 Grammy Awards.
