President Barack Obama is among the luminaries interviewed in a new special slated to air Friday on Fox News Channel.

“Fox News Reporting: Destiny and Power – The Private Diaries of George Herbert Walker Bush” is slated to air Friday, November 6th at 10 p.m. During the program, which is keyed to the release of the new Jon Meacham book “Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush,” President Obama and former Vice Presidents Dan Quayle and Dick Cheney will reflect on America’s 41st President.  Fox News Channel’s Brit Hume will anchor the special.

The program will offer exclusive first-hand accounts of Bush, including  President George W. Bush and businessman Neil Bush and former Secretary of State James Baker.  Meacham will also appear to discuss his book’s findings.

“He had principles, but he also had common sense,” President Obama said during the interview. ” And when you look at both how he managed foreign policy and when you think about how he handled domestic policy in each case he was thoughtful, restrained, and made good decisions.  And I think that ultimately he was one of the more underrated presidents that we’ve ever had certainly in modern times.”

  1. JIM EVANHOE says:

Couple of questions regarding this: GHW Bush and the book “Destiny & Power” and the recordings?

1…….All of the recordings – We have recorded them and taken a look at the vocals, etc. Almost all of them were composed and recorded at the same time. Using GHW’s age and voice, tones, words, products for recording over the time span, etc. We seriously have reservations to the legitimacy of there originality.

2…….GHW Bush leaves out from this “personal self promoting film” the affects of His Recession: the Savings & Loan Failure and the National Economic Recession from 1988-89-90-91? Here millions of Americans lost their homes, and or were upside down on their mortgages, millions lost their jobs and or businesses. No real attachment by GHW? and this was a huge failing by GHW!

3…….Or the fact when He invaded Panama to save the Panamanian People from Noriega? …GHW…. never states the fact He killed over 600 civilians (this is a low estimate some estimates are over 1,000 killed) and left behind $350million in property damage that was never rebuilt or supported by Bush. Who does that?

4…….FOX there should be time given to rebut the entire film for what it left out and a thorough discussion on whether its is nothing more then a promo for the Book and His Son Jeb, during an election cycle where Jeb is running for Office.

5…….The American People got rid of GHW the first chance they had. And besides this book and this film don’t see the need to revisit the failed leadership of Bush #1 when Bush #2 failed even greater..with a bigger Recession – Bush Recession #2 – and another Bush War that destabilized the entire Middle East…taking away power and politics from the Sunni population in Iraq and giving it to the Shiite population – Gee wonder why it is a mess in the Middle East? The Bush Presidencies created a total of 12 years of Recession and a National Debt only surpassed by the ignorance of Obama!

5…….FOX like you state…in your moto: Fair & Accurate!

It should have read, “From one idiot to another, I think that ultimately he was one of the more underrated presidents that we’ve ever had certainly in modern times.”
