Esquire Network has given a 1o-episode order to a docu-series examining the high-stakes dealmaking by sports agents during the annual NFL Draft process.
“The Agent” will focus on four football agents — billed as “real-life Jerry Maguires — as they wheel and deal in the weeks leading up to the draft, which unfolds April 30-May 2. The series is set to premiere in July. Filming has been under way since last September, Esquire said.
The four reps featured in “Agent” are:
- Jeff Guerriero, who has repped more than 100 professional football players since 1998;
- Peter Schaffer, a certified NFL agent for 24 years;
- Sunny Shah, a former Wall Streeter turned indie sports agent;
- Ed Wasielewski, a 10-year professional agent looking for big signings.
“Agent” is exec produced by Mark Herzog and Christopher G. Cowan for Herzog & Co/HCO, the banner behind CNN’s “The Sixties.” Vincent DiPersio and Josh Mamann also exec produce.
