The Emmy- and Tony-winning actress has joined a cast led by Richard Dreyfuss as the investment adviser-turned-felon. Frank Whaley will play Harry Markopolos, the securities industry executive who alerted the SEC of Madoff’s Ponzi scheme. Erin Cummings will play Madoff’s secretary, Eleanor Squillari, and Tom Lipinski will play Madoff’s eldest son, Mark.
“Madoff,” which is directed by Raymond De Felitta, is inspired by ABC News chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross’ reporting from his book “The Madoff Chronicles.” It follows the former investment adviser’s prodigious rise and very public and abrupt fall, as well as the impact it had on his family, associates and investors. Linda Berman and Joe Pichirallo are exec producing the project, which is already in production. “Madoff” is produced by Lincoln Square productions, in association with ABC Studios.
