Argentinian TV Drama Gets First-Ever German Adaptation

Ciega a Citas

TEL AVIV – Dori Media has announced a first for Argentinian serial dramas: the first-ever sale of a format of its type to German television.

“Ciega a Citas,” a soapy Spanish-language rom-com about a woman on a frantic quest to find love before her sister’s upcoming wedding, has been picked up by German production company UFA Serial Drama, which is an arm of Fremantle. The show’s German-language adaptation, dubbed “Mila,” will begin airing daily on German channel SAT.1 later this year. Actress Susan Sideropoulous has been tapped for the lead role.

“Ciega a Citas,” which is called “Date Blind” on the international market, has been sold to more than 40 territories, including deals with Fox Latam and producers in Russia and China, and has proven a major hit across the Spanish-speaking world.

Dori Media has offices in Israel, Argentina, Switzerland and the U.S. In Israel, together with Sony Pictures Television, the company owns two daily drama channels, Viva and Viva Plus, that are carried by all Israeli multichannel platforms. They have also brought telenovelas to Israeli screens through an AVOD service.
