Film and TV composer Brian Tyler will be the keynote speaker for the Production Music Association’s second annual Production Music Conference, taking place Sept. 9 at the Directors Guild of America headquarters in Los Angeles.
The maestro behind such films as “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “The Expendables” is scheduled to speak at 9 a.m.
Later that day, the confab will also unveil the inaugural Mark Awards, which honor excellence in production music.
Founded in l997, the PMA consists of 675 members, including music publishers, composers and other industry pros.
Its mission statement is to “elevate the unique value of production music and to ensure the viability of the production music industry,” including monitoring the collection of royalty fees for PMA members and providing a forum for issues of common concern.
