Coldplay Debuts ‘Everglow,’ Featuring Gwyneth Paltrow

Coldplay Releases 'Everglow' Featuring Gwyneth Paltrow

Coldplay has debuted another song off upcoming album “A Head Full of Dreams.” Chris Martin shared “Everglow,” which features guest vocals from Martin’s ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show.

Martin explained to Lowe that the song’s title is a word he learned from a surfer.

“I was in the ocean one day with this surfer guy, who spoke just like you’d imagine a surfer guy to speak,” Martin said. “This guy spoke like Sean Penn’s character from ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High.’ He was like, ‘Yo dude, I was doing this thing the other day man, it gave me this total everglow!’ I was like, ‘What an amazing word.'”

Martin added, “Then the song came completely out. To me, it’s about – whether it’s a loved one or a situation or a friend or a relationship that’s finished or someone’s passed away – I was really thinking about, after you’ve been through the sadness of something, you also get this everglow. That’s what it’s about.”

Coldplay’s frontman told Rolling Stone that the song is “about a relationship’s enduring spark.” Regarding Paltrow’s vocal contributions to the track, Martin said, “We just did it in the studio one day. It was just a friendly kind of thing.”

“A Head Full of Dreams” will also feature guest vocals from Beyonce, Blue Ivy Carter, Tove Lo, Martin and Paltrow’s children and Noel Gallagher, plus a sample of President Obama’s rendition of “Amazing Grace.” Lead single “Adventure of a Lifetime” has Coldplay fans abuzz over the album, rumored to be the band’s last, which will drop Dec. 4.

Oooh brother, could things get any worse than the last 2 releases, yes they can .Reminded me of the back ground music in my local planetarium .What made this band near genius is all gone and now full of computer generated nonsense with nothing lyrics. What a shame,no wait. The shame would be if there is another.

Doesn’t look like Gwyneth is going to allow Beyonce to take over on any of this as she certainly will try.

So Blue Ivey, at the age of 3 or whatever, contributes to the next Coldplay album. Are we really surprised that Radiohead are considered genius in comaparison. Its not really an artistic challenge any more. Coldplay just sucks the ass of celebrity. Period.

I’ve heard A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS and it’s amazing. I love to read all the negative comments on Variety by morons like Wilson, who know nothing about music. They just like to post snide remarks.

Utter nonsense. All the songs on their new album previewed have been terrific. The album will sell a ton. Radiohead isn’t even a blimp on anyone’s radar except poor little Wilson Peak’s. Get a life Wilson.
