Jack London’s classic wolf novel “White Fang” is getting the animated treatment from Big Beach, French animation company Superprod and Luxembourg’s Bidibul Productions.

Alexandre Espirages, whose 2013 short animated film “Mr. Hublot” won an Oscar, will direct from a script by Dominique Monfrey, Philippe Lioret and Serge Frydman. Big Beach’s Marc Turtletaub and Peter Saraf will produce along with Superprod’s Clement Calvet and Jeremie Fajner. Exec producers will be Lilian Eche and Christel Henon for Bidibul and Leah Holzer for Big Beach. Backup Media will finance.

UTA Independent Film Group will handle North American sales and coordinate financing with Big Beach and Backup, with Wild Bunch distributing “White Fang” in France.

First published in 1906, “White Fang” follows a wolf-dog navigating survival in the harsh Canadian wilderness and the humans he encounters. “White Fang” has been adapted for film and television several times over, including a 1991 version starring a young Ethan Hawke.

The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.

  1. I hope people don’t alter the animation. People need to accept the parts that God made.
