Variety and the U.S. China Film & TV Industry Expo are partnering for the second annual convergence of industry leaders.
“Last year’s expo provided a great base for starting these important conversations,” UCFTI Expo CEO Bianca Chen said. “With Variety by our side as a co-partner for this year’s expo, we are confident that this year will be even more beneficial in allowing both the U.S. and China to take advantages of each other’s strengths and resources.”
The UCFTI Expo will feature prominent executives and representatives on panels discussing the future of content delivery and filmmaking between Hollywood and China, as well as dealmaking and financing, and exhibition and distribution.
Weinstein Company COO David Glasser, Oriental DreamWorks president James Fong, China Media Capital managing director Clark Xu, EVP and general counsel of Warner Bros. Entertainment John Rogovin, Dragongate CEO William Pfeiffer and Jiaflix co-founder Marc Ganis are among the scheduled speakers.
“Variety is honored to serve as the media partner for the U.S. China Film & Television Industry Expo,” Variety publisher Michelle Sobrino said. “China is the most exciting market for content creators and distributors given its innovations in storytelling and distribution, and the rapid growth of both local and international media consumption.”
The UCFTI Expo will take place Sept. 28 to 29 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
