Universal Pictures has hired veteran Warner Bros. legal exec Clarissa Weirick as general counsel of the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group.
Weirick, who has been at Warner Bros. for 18 years, will manage all legal issues at the group and work closely with the NBCUniversal corporate legal resources. She will report to chairman of the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group Jeff Shell and NBCUniversal executive VP and general counsel Kimberley Harris.
Weirick will begin her new job on July 13. She will also be charged with oversight of legal matters involving the Fandango online ticketing service.
Weirick most recently served as executive VP and general counsel of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group. She began her tenure at Warner Bros. in 1997 as corporate counsel.
