‘The Duff’ Director Ari Sandel Tapped for CBS Films’ ‘Preconception’

CBS Films is reteaming with “The Duff” director Ari Sandel for adult comedy “Preconception,” set with “Pain and Gain” producer Donald De Line.

“Preconception,” written by Jake Morse and Scott Wolman, centers on a couple in their 30s who plan to cut loose before settling down into parenthood.

Sandel won an Oscar for live-action short for his USC graduate film “West Bank Story” in 2007 and went on to direct “Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Tour: 30 Days and 30 Nights” and several episodes of “Aim High.”

“The Duff,” made for $8.5 million, grossed $34 million domestically for CBS Films, with Lionsgate handling distribution.

Sandel is repped by WME and Principato-Young. The writers are repped by Kaplan/Perrone.
