Scott Takeda Enters 'The Space Between

STX Entertainment has tapped Scott Takeda (“Gone Girl”) for adventure-romance “The Space Between Us” opposite Gary Oldman, Asa Butterfield and Britt Robertson, Variety has learned exclusively.

The film, directed by Peter Chelsom, is currently shooting in Albuquerque, N.M. STX has dated “Space” — which centers on a teenager born on Mars who begins an online romance with a girl in Colorado — for July 29, 2016.

Takeda will play a doctor in the film. He can next be seen in the Paramount comedy “Fun House” opposite Margot Robbie and Billy Bob Thornton and in Steven Seagal’s “Code of Honor.”

Takeda’s credits include “Dallas Buyers Club,” “American Crime” and “Halt and Catch Fire.”
