MGM has bought the movie rights to Wednesday Martin’s recently published book “Primates of Park Avenue.”

“Primates,” published by Simon & Schuster on June 2, is currently the top e-book on the New York Times Bestseller List and third on its print list.

The book is an observational memoir of the rich and powerful men and women who inhabit the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Martin also wrote “Stepmonster: A New Look at Why Real Stepmothers Think, Feel, and Act the Way We Do” and has a doctorate from Yale in comparative literature and cultural studies.

MGM has recently acquired movie rights to two other books — “Me Before You” by Jojo Moyes and “I Am Pilgrim” by Terry Hayes.

Martin is repped by UTA and Richard Pine at Inkwell Management.
