Adam Brown, Delroy Atkinson and Danny Kirrane have joined the cast of Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean 5,” starring Johnny Depp.

Javier Bardem and Brenton Thwaites are also on board, with “Kon Tiki’s” Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg directing. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing.

Plots details are still unknown, but pre-production is already under way in Australia, where the big-budget sequel will be shot. The film will bow in July 2017.

Brown was last seen in “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.” He is repped by CAM and Luber Roklin Entertainment.

Kirrane was last seen in “Automata” and is repped by Gordon and French. Atkinson is repped by Waring and McKenna.

  1. Captain Craig says:

I thought that I heard about Christoph Waltz was going to be in this one as the villain ghost pirate? Is that not the case now?

  2. sparrow, capt jack sparrow says:

Bring back all original pirates and actors that played those pirates and have them team up with barbossa after Sparrow (Depp) frees them from the bottle in Blackbeards ship..Have Blackbeard come back as a creepy ghost pirate..I don’t like the way they just killed off the kraken creature, they should bring a new “beasty” into the film, like a giant octopus or incredible looking sharks off the warm coasts in their search for the island of John Cortez’s gold or ahem, (sword) as in a non canon book that they were basing the movie off of…please don’t bring back Penelope Cruz or any of the low interest poor actors of pirates 4! You should capture the feel of Pirates 1&2, which to me were awesomely great, 3 &4 should be discarded and walked off the plank! More villains and a crazier plot with Sparrows life of course on the line, it’d be great to see Bloom return again at least for one film, or maybe he can be tied in to the rest? U can replace knightly with Natalie postman, like in Black swan, hot suggestion…

  3. I think the world would rather see Pirates sequels made by Digital Playground instead of Jerry Bruckheimer.

  4. TOM says:

    Bombs away…

  5. Will Turner Fan Forever says:

All I want is Will Turner played by Orlando Bloom! Not a cameo but a lead as he is in the original POTC. I know Keira is expecting a child and can’t be in this movie but I wish Orlando and Keira were back and received the happy reunion they deserved. I hate how Disney ruined everything good that was in the original movies. How can they be so cruel to the strongest and the most beautiful couple on screen?
Now they want the new boy to play Will’s son who is looking the way to free his father. Just like Will did in the original trilogy! No new ideas, Disney? And that will be a HUGE plot hole because Will returns to Elizabeth and his son for good in the end of POTC 3 (the Green Flash shows that the LIVING soul comes back to the world of living). So, Will’s son has to be no more than nine years old! How can he be a “soldier” played by a 20 smth. year old? Why they need the “new Will” when there is the “real Will” who can have a great story because he is a great, interesting character that is loved by many people? There are tons of stories I can come up for Will as the Captain of Flying Dutchman, stories of how he and Liz were holding up during all these torturous years, how they were spending these years maybe with other adventures, protecting their child, etc, and, of course the story for the ways to free Will and make him and his family happy. Can’t the highly paid Disney scriptwriters do that? Sure, it’s easy to let bad guys win. Way to go, Disney prods.
I was a fan of POTC from the day one for many years but I’m very disappointed in Disney. Didn’t watch the 4th movie because Will and Elizabeth weren’t in it. I’ve heard it was really bad from those who saw it. I’ not surprised. Not everything is about the modern Disney motto: “Take everything, give nothing back.”
