‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’ Begins Production in Australia

“G’Days” and “Ahoys” were probably exchanged aplenty today on the set of Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” which has commenced production in Queensland, Australia.

The fifth film in the franchise brings Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem down under for plenty of swashbuckling. Shooting will take place both on location in Queensland and in the Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast.

Depp returns to the role of Captain Jack Sparrow, who in this film will be targeted by the villainous Captain Salazar (Bardem) as Sparrow searches for Poseidon’s trident in hopes of fending off “deadly ghost pirates,” per a press release from the studio.

Orlando Bloom returns to the series to shiver more timbers after skipping the fourth installment, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.” Bloom will reprise his role as Will Turner, and Turner’s relationship with his son (played by newcomer Brenton Thwaites) is rumored to loom large in the plot of “Dead Men Tell No Tales.”

Jerry Bruckheimer is again producing, with Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning (the team behind “Kon-Tiki”) directing a script by Jeff Nathanson (“Catch Me If You Can”).

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” is slated to bow in theaters July 7, 2017.

I can’t wait for the fifth movie to come out. I just really don’t want to see Will sr back because he doesn’t have a good rapor with Jr the way that jack does. Jack should be wills father instead. They think alike more the way a father and son do.

By the time this unwanted stinker opens in July, 2017, Johnny Depp will be on the unemployment line, and audiences will be digesting the latest “50 Shades of Grey” sequel.

  6. POTCfan says:

Disney prods! Don’t screw it again! I’m coming back for POTC to the theatre ONLY if Will Turner played by Orlando Bloom is back! I hope you won’t ruin it a terrible script for him. And I hope it’s NOT a cameo! I REALLY dodn’t want to suffer through 3 hours of the same mimicking of you-know-who to see my favorite Will for couple of minutes on screen. I hope Keira will be back for the 6th movie too.

“Hollywood and culture is now 100% PSYCHOPATHIC.

PSYCHOPATHS, remember, are INCAPABLE of genuine creativity.

They can only REPEAT themselves ENDLESSLY,
    ——————————————-and ‘evolve’ along pre-determined lines.”

The Disney formula is sequels and more sequels, movies are products, and nothing more, when you have a hot selling product you make more, that’s exactly what Disney does best. If you want art look to another studios, in the mean time, Disney will keep making more Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, sequels, it’s their gold mine, and it keeps the stockholders happy.
