‘Ouija 2’ Set for Oct. 21, 2016, Release Date

Ouija Movie

Universal Pictures is going back to the Ouija board and has set “Ouija 2” for a Halloween season release on Oct. 21, 2016.

Blumhouse’s micro-budget original, starring Olivia Cooke, was released on Oct. 24 last year and performed strongly with $100 million in worldwide grosses.

The same set of producers will return — Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form; Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum and Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis. Blum has a first-look deal at Universal.

Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard (“Oculus”) wrote the screenplay, and Universal will distribute the film worldwide.

      “Mirco-budget”

No. 5 million dollars may be low by today’s standards, but it’s “micro”. El Mariachi, although made in the 90’s, was made for only $7, 000. And to this day that’s still pretty low. THAT, is a micro-budget. I hate using this example, but Paranormal Activity was made for only $15, 000. Again, micro, not 5 million.

Hollywood no be talkin’ good like me and yous. “Macro-budget” is beyond their comprehension.
