Nicole Kidman, Jill Soloway and Ava DuVernay are among the women to be recognized for their groundbreaking work in entertainment at the 2015 Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards on June 16 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City.
The fundraising dinner, presented by Max Mara, BMW of North America and Tiffany & Co., supports the Women in Film nonprofit’s educational and philanthropic efforts for gender equality within the industry.
Kidman will be receive the Crystal Award for Excellence in Film, and “Transparent” creator Soloway will be presented the Lucy Award for Excellence in Television. “Selma” director DuVernay will get the Dorothy Arzner Directors Award. Rounding out the honorees are Kate Mara, Sue Kroll and Toni Howard.
Cathy Schulman, President of Women In Film, Los Angeles, said she was proud to celebrate this year’s lineup. “Each one of these women has made extraordinary contributions to the media art, and as a group they have forged sustainable careers that are emblematic of the positive and long overdue change that is taking root for women in Hollywood.”
