Citing the Paris terrorist attacks, Lionsgate has decided against allowing interviews on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” on Nov. 17 at the LA Live complex.

“Out of respect for the very recent events in Paris, we have decided to modify our red carpet and we will not conduct interviews at Monday’s ‘Mockingjay 2’ premiere,” Lionsgate said in a statement. “We will proceed with the rest of the event as planned in honor of the incredible fans who have always supported our films with such passion.”

Lionsgate held a premiere of the movie in Paris on Nov. 9, along with premieres in Berlin (Nov. 4), London (Nov. 5), Madrid (Nov. 10) and Beijing (Nov. 12). The key stars — Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson —  have been interviewed extensively.

It’s also planning a Nov. 18 premiere in New York before the film launches worldwide on Nov. 20.

Portions of the fourth and final “Hunger Games” film were shot in Paris, Berlin and Altanta. The three previous films have grossed over $2.3 billion in worldwide box office.

  1. Shandy says:

They did a lot of filming in Paris and adored the city…I’m guessing they just don’t want to put out yet more press (probably of the actors answering the same questions they’ve already been asked at every other premiere!) about the movie when there’s, y’know, something more important dominating the news. Especially since it’s something that does have a personal connection to the production.

  2. Bonnie Brown says:

Well then your stupid-Isis hit a event in Paris havent you heard? An event like this Premiere is ust what they’re looking
for to make an impact statement.

  3. Sean says:

I fail to see what this has to do with Paris or why it is necessary.

  4. john says:

    We stand with you Paris!

    • Harjodh K. says:

Exactly. Lilly Singh spent a lot of money because she was told she was going to walk the carpet and 3 days before they just cancel it for her because she isn’t in the movie. The events in Paris are tragic but make to direct correlations to interview or stars that aren’t in the movie not being able to walk the carpet.

    • In the original BATTLE ROYALE 2: REQUIEM, Panem was Paris!

      • GEOFFROY says:

Hi dudes from abroad. My french mates and I very appreciate your…’moments of brotherhodd’ facing those sad events. France says No to that fake ideology spreading hate and sorrows. Nous, musulmans, juifs, chrétiens, agnostiques, athées, blancs, noirs préférons mourir debout que vivre à genoux. Merci à toutes les personnes de bonne volonté and Hail the brave people from everywhere !!!
