Lionsgate has promoted Patricia Laucella to president of business and legal affairs for its motion picture group.

Laucella has handled production deals for the last two “Hunger Games” films and structured and negotiated talent deals for director Francis Lawrence, Jennifer Lawrence and many of the other principal cast members. She also structured and negotiated production and talent deals for the first two installments of Lionsgate’s “Divergent” franchise, along with “Gods of Egypt,” the live-action Power Rangers film, “Deepwater Horizon,” “The Last Witch Hunter” and Damien Chazelle’s “La La Land.”

She will continue to report to general counsel and chief strategic officer Wayne Levin.

Laucella worked at Warner Bros., MGM, Sony Pictures and Paramount before becoming head of legal affairs for motion picture production at Summit, which Lionsgate bought in 2012.
